How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds
Rinse pumpkin seeds under cold water and pick out the pulp and strings. (This is easiest just after you’ve removed the seeds from the pumpkin, before the pulp has dried.)
Place the pumpkin seeds in a single layer on an oiled baking sheet, stirring to coat. If you prefer, omit the oil and coat with non-stick cooking spray.
Sprinkle with salt and bake at 325 degrees F until toasted, about 25 minutes, checking and stirring after 10 minutes.
Let cool and store in an air-tight container.

Soooo….You have a cell phone. Maybe your parents said you had to be a certain age, get good grades, pay for your own or whatever! I hope that they gave you some rules to follow. These rules are not meant to be mean or anything of that sort, but to teach you about what others expect of you and your cell phone! Some schools ban cell phones use during school while others allow them with the purpose being that cell phone ettiquette needs to be taught just like other behavior at school. Some things are super obvious like not talking on your phone during class, or texting the answers to an exam from across the room. But, see if you know and practice these other rules:
. Excuse your self.Do you have any cell phone pet peeves? I would like to hear from you!

Run through the sprinkler!!!! Let your hair dry by itself all curly! Play a board game outside in the shade with a friend while sipping your favorite flavor Kool-Aid (mine = raspberry!). Go to the local library and check out a book. Have a picnic with some of your friends- everyone can bring something to share. Invite your moms too unless you have to gossip and catch up. Make a playlist of your favorite summer songs. I made a list on my phone so everytime I hear one I add it.

I started cleaning out some things in my bedroom and it is a really good feeling. Even if it is just one drawer and you throw some things away, you will feel happy about it =)
Tonight I need to do a bigger clean out job on my clothes closet but I am hoping to put enough energy into it and find some old clothes that I forgot I even had!
I am going to try to be creative with my closet organization- if you have any ideas for me let me know- I use those plastic shoe organizers that hang on doors for my mittens, scarves and socks. It works really well and keep things organized!

Well, the summer is almost half over- good news and bad news …huh? Good news- there is still half the summer left…the bad news is that if you had goals you wanted to accomplish this summer and haven’t started, then YIKES!
I know most young girls like to sleep in every day and stay up late. I honestly like the stay up late part, but having to go to work in the morning is a toughy! For you younger non-working girls, now may be a great time to start setting the alarm clock 1 hour earlier. Use that hour to make one of your goals a reality. Get up and take a walk, or read, or learn something new you had said you would do. Volunteering somewhere is also fun- ask at a pet store or a camp or facility for older people.
Creating your own goals and sticking to them is very rewarding. Just remember to be realistic about it. Don’t set summer goals that would take 3 years for the average “joe” to accomplish. Smaller, more attainable goals are better.
You can also work with a friend on a goal. Be careful that your friend is not one who will drag you down or keep you or talk you out of your missions.
Send me some of your summer goals- I would love to post them on here!
